Michigan Lottery is dedicated to encouraging responsible play of its games and increasing access to help for players who experience problem-gambling issues. We ask that all of our retail partners assist with this effort by taking a few moments to become familiar with our responsible gaming resources and watch the video below.
Problem Gambling Button Added to Lottery Terminals
Lottery terminals have been updated to include a new problem-gambling button, located on the top-left corner of the home screen, to provide players with free, confidential help sources 24/7. This same feature will be made available on self-service terminals in the near future. The Michigan Lottery recommends that retailers print-out several of the messages and have them available for player reference and convenience.
Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline – 1-800-270-7117
If you believe a customer needs help, please refer that individual to the Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-270-7117. The Helpline provides confidential, one-on-one support to any Michigan resident seeking help for a gambling problem. Counselors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide immediate assistance. Please remember that you only need to provide the Helpline number, it is up to the customer to take the next step and call. If you do not have the toll-free number handy, it is printed on all lottery tickets.

If you believe a customer is more inclined to seek help using text or chat, the assistance provided on the toll-free Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline can also be accessed through text message and live chat. Contact information for these services is located on the bottom of every page on michiganlottery.com as well as the Responsible Gaming Resources page.
Responsible Gaming Training Video
The retailer training video below was created by the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) and the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). The video provides facts about problem gambling and demonstrates an effective way to interact with someone who might be dealing with a gambling problem.
